Macrovision’s InstallShield 11 Makes Anti-Piracy Standard Part of Installation Process
According to a global software piracy study conducted by the Business Software Alliance (BSA) and International Data Corporation (IDC), 36 percent of the software installed on computers worldwide was pirated in 2003, representing nearly $29 billion of lost revenues for software publishers. The BSA maintains that unlicensed usage within the enterprise and B2B software markets is rampant, both internationally and in the U.S., where the piracy rate is estimated at 23 percent.
