Application producers need to have confidence that their software is compatible with and will install properly on Windows 10, the much-anticipated upgrade of Microsoft's operating system. InstallShield 2015 is Windows 10-ready, enabling producers to confidently build installations that support Windows 10 as well as existing versions of the operating system including Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.

The report indicates that reality is catching up to the hype. Device manufacturers are significantly transforming their product and services lines through software-driven intelligent devices, Internet of Things devices and software licensing/entitlement management capabilities that enable monetization of products and services. Among the report's findings:

According to a recent BSA Global Software Survey, 43 percent of the software installed on PCs around the world, totaling more than $62 billion in value, was not properly licensed. "The amount of revenue illegally being siphoned away from producers due to unauthorized software use is staggering," said Mathieu Baissac, Vice President of Product Management at Flexera Software.

Simplifying Deployment of Web/Server Applications

Agile development is increasing the frequency of software releases and, as a result, the time and effort around developing software installers. InstallAnywhere 2014 is the only multi-platform installation solution capable of automatically detecting and removing previous versions of an application, and correctly upgrading a previous version on an existing customer's PC. This new standard installation framework simplifies development and installation of upgrades for application producers.

This is the conclusion of a new Flexera Software 2013-14 Key Trends in Software Pricing & Licensing Report, prepared jointly with IDC, the ninth annual assessment of key issues and trends on the minds of software vendors, intelligent device manufacturers, and enterprise IT executives and managers. The report reveals, among other things, that 42% of application producers plan on changing their licensing/compliance policies for virtualization.

The new offices, located near the Munich Trade Fair, will better enable Flexera Software to provide superior service and support to enterprises, software vendors and intelligent device manufacturers in the region, and provide tailored solutions for its growing customer base in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In the region, more than 2000 companies already have implemented Flexera Software's solutions.

The partnership will enable application producers leveraging Flexera Software's recently announced compliance management solution, which supports usage-based, trust-but-verify software licensing models, to automate customer billing through integration with Z-Business, Zuora's leading subscription management platform.

The survey questioned Flexera Software employees' on a variety of workplace satisfaction issues, and benchmarked those results against the responses of all companies participating. Employees were queried on Flexera Software's direction, how the company is executing on its plan, and how connected they feel with the larger organization. The survey also asked employees about their satisfaction with their jobs, managers, and compensation and benefits.
