InstallShield 2012 Spring is Here!

Yesterday Flexera launched InstallShield 2012 Spring – which picks up where InstallShield 2012 left off: empowering Software Producers with support for new Microsoft technologies, both traditional and agile development processes, and the unique product packaging needs of today’s global Software Producers.

InstallShield 2012 Spring includes the following new capabilities:

Hybrid Cloud Deployments – Microsoft^® SQL Azure™ database scripting capabilities enable hybrid cloud SQL deployments

Pre-Release Support for Microsoft^® Windows^® 8 and Windows Server^® 2012 – Install your applications on new Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, as well as Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Support for Visual Studio^® 11 – Build installations inside the new Visual Studio 11, as well as Visual Studio 2010, and deploy applications targeting .NET 4. Include new .NET prerequisites with installations

Advanced Wizard Page Editor and Redesigned Wizard Pages – Entirely new end-user interface with redesigned built-in wizard pages and a new wizard page editor to create a better run-time experience

Automatic Checking for Installer Updates and Patches – Automatic check and download of updates and patches at run-time

Suite Installation Enhancements – Easily bundle multiple products together into a single, unified installation. Ability to import and reference PRQ files as Suite packages, dynamic links for Suite packages, advanced reporting and logging on Suite packages as well as a new UI for custom conditions

Microsoft^® System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support – Enables Software Producers to provide required deployment metadata to their Enterprise customers

Microsoft^® PowerShell™ Support – Enables Software Producers to streamline installation scripting requirements
